1st Latin American poetry event "Poetry for Peace in Colombia"
The Human Rights International Network Europe (RIDHE), in collaboration with MEP Mónica Silvana González from the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, is pleased to invite you to the first Latin American Poetry event:
Poetries for Peace in Colombia
Day: 30th March 2022
17:00-18:00, (Brussels, Belgium)
11:00-12:00 (Valledupar, Colombia)
After more than fifty years of armed conflict in Colombia, and within the Peace Agreements framework, this event will be an occasion to exhibit the poems of artists belonging to the indigenous communities of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia. The poets will be represented by two outstanding indigenous women who will guide us from Colombia in their daily struggles for the conservation of their ancestral territories, as well as exposing the impact of peace agreements on their demands for the respect of natural environment and their ancestral pedagogy. The event will take place at Mundo-b, Cafeteria Kamilou, Rue d'Edimbourg 26, 1050 Brussels. Among our guests, we will count on the intervention of MEP Mr. Ignacio Sánchez Amor, S&D Human Rights coordinator, and member of DROI sub-commission, as well as the presence of Mr. Ramón Muñoz, as event moderator.
At the end, there will be a toast of honor between 18h00-20h00.
