In line with the ALDA Environment & Climate Hub motto “Empowering smarter, greener, and more inclusive cities and communities through civic participation”, the public workshop Beyond Awareness: How Civil Society Shapes the Green and Smart City will highlight the vital role of civil society in shaping sustainable cities.
Civil society’s role in sustainability is often limited to raising awareness, but in reality, local communities are key agents of transformation. In this engaging in-person workshop, we’ll explore how citizens, associations, and local actors are co-creating digital and green solutions for smarter, more inclusive cities.
The agenda for the day includes:
- Showcasing experiences from EU-funded projects BUILDSPACE and GreenScape, demonstrating how citizens are actively contributing to urban transformation.
- Moving from dialogue to action through interactive methods, exploring real-world solutions to pressing climate and environmental challenges.
- A dedicated marketplace of initiatives, offering hands-on opportunities to discover practical tools and platforms driving local transitions.
- A networking lunch for all participants
